  • In-depth scientific understanding of protein LC-MS (top-down, middle-down and bottom-up analysis)
  • Hands-on experience with LC-MS data processing and structural characterization of proteins
  • Good knowledge of protein chemistry and protein separations
  • Proven method development skills
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching and leading a team of experts
  • Critical mindset and good sense for initiative and attention to quality and detail
  • Flexible team player and customer-oriented problem solver
  • Great communicator with excellent writing/reporting skills
  • Able to multitask and tackle complex scientific questions in a largely independent manner
  • Comfortable interacting with customers (discussing requests, finetuning scope, presenting results)

  • Fluent in English (written & oral)
  • Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy or equivalent qualification due to experience
  • A minimum of 8 years expertise in the field

 

YOUR ROLE… 🎯

  • You manage and support the projects within the protein MS team
  • You coach and assist team members in LC-MS based protein characterization and ensure adequate reporting to the high company standard
  • You scope new projects together with the customer and the commercial team
  • You interact with your team to ensure proper project planning and execution
  • You are responsible for training of new team members
  • You develop and apply innovative LC-MS methodologies for in-depth protein characterization at various development stages
  • You handle complex and scientifically challenging projects for our industrial (e.g. biotech and pharma) and academic partners
  • You design and plan experiments, process data, capture findings in reports and communicate with customers
  • You align with management and commercial team on strategic choices
  • You provide regular updates to customers on project process and way forward
  • You report to the Group Leader

THIS IS YOU…🧩

  • Very good knowledge of protein chemistry and ELISA assay development 
  • Familiar with essential statistical and data analysis software such as for example Excel and GraphPad Prism 
  • Hands-on experience with spectrophotometry, liquid chromatography and capillary electrophoreses are an asset 
  • Passionate to work in the laboratory 
  • Critical mindset and good sense for initiative and attention to quality and detail 
  • Team player, client-minded, problem-solving mentality and flexible attitude 
  • Well organized and managing daily activities independently 
  • Capable of multitasking in an environment with changing priorities 
  • Eager to broaden expertise in the fascinating field of protein analytics 
  • Keen to learn new techniques and to share expertise with others 
  • Good communication skills (fluent in English, written and spoken) 
  • Bachelor degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical laboratory technology, biomedicine, pharmacy or equivalent qualification due to experience 
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience during which you have obtained extensive theoretical knowledge & practical know-how in ELISA assay development 

 

YOUR ROLE… 🎯

  • You work on the development and application of (bio)analytical techniques with a main focus on ELISA. 
  • You design experiments together with your supervisor and plan and execute the work independently 
  • You are able to analyze and interpret data, link them to previous ones and propose follow-up strategies 
  • You document and analyze the data and write scientifically sound reports of your results 
  • You will be involved in a variety of projects with industrial (mainly biotech and pharma) and academic partners 
  • You take up reporting and communication when participating in client meetings

  • You ensure project completion within agreed-upon timelines, scope and budget and monitor, track and report milestones  
  • You organize and chair project meetings overseeing the issuance of tasks, actions and document meeting minutes for clear communication and accountability 
  • You meticulously write, analyze and review CMC documentation (i.e. process development reports, stability reports, standard operating procedures, and others), and derive relevant insights and conclusions 
  • You actively engage in and drive technical and strategic CMC discussions with our customers
